- Producer Dave Reynolds came across the Louisa lifeboat rescue story in 2007 at the Porlock Literary Festival when he was given a copy of the C. Walter - Hodges novel: The Overland Launch (1969). He immediately thought it would make a great movie. So began many years of research across Exmoor's coastal area between Lynmouth & Porlock to find out what really happened back in 1899. So Louisa: An Amazing Adventure movie was born.
- Ken Blakey, the Animator & Director of Louisa: An Amazing Adventure, read about the Louisa lifeboat story at school back in 1970 when C Walter Hodges novel "The Overland Launch" was published. In 2014 he produced a short documentary about the rescue, and from that Great British Entertainment Ltd asked him would he be interested in producing a feature animation. After 10,000 hours of fantastic animation with music added by Toby Dunham, Louisa: An Amazing Adventure was Previewed in January 2019 at Lynton Cinema to coincide with the 120th Anniversary of Louisa's adventure on 12th-14th January 1899.
