- The first Tom and Jerry feature film.
- This is the first and so far the only film in the series where Tom and Jerry talk. Due to massive negative attention with this movie, Warner Bros., now owners of the series, reverted Tom and Jerry back to being mute in The Mansion Cat (2001).
- 查克·琼斯 was set to make a Tom and Jerry movie in the 1970s, but eventually pulled out after being unable to find a suitable script.
