- The original title of the film was (all small characters) "lanewyorkparisromehelsinki".
- The names of the Finnish taxi driver and his sleeping drunken passenger are Mika and Aki, after the Kaurismäki brothers. The Helsinki story is 吉姆·贾木许's tribute to their filmmaking.
- Much of 罗伯托·贝尼尼's dialogue was unscripted and was spontaneously improvised by the actor.
