- Under its USA title, The Phantom Fiend, the re-edited USA version of this film received its first telecast Thursday 6 March 1940 on New York City's pioneer, and still experimental television station W2XBS.
- Ivor Novello reprises his lead role from 阿尔弗雷德·希区柯克's silent classic 房客 (1927). Hitchcock was asked to direct the sound remake of his 1927 film, but declined.
