Léo Lasko was born on June 25, 1885 in Hamburg, Germany as Leo Schlamme. He was a director and writer, known for Der Totenvogel (1921), Der Sträfling von Cayenne (1921) and Der gefesselte Polo (1929). He died in July 1949 in London, England.

早年经历

  • As Lasko was of Jewish descent he was classified as a "non-Aryan" by the Nazis. Following their 1933 takeover he was banned from film work and eventually emigrated to Britain.
  • After a study for engineering he went to a touring company where he learned the ability of acting. It followed engagements at theaters of smaller cities and finally he appeared on stage in Erfurt, Leipzig and Amsterdam.
